Hells Angels Tattoos

In the 1940s, Hells Angels motorcycle club came into existence, and became one of the most notorious outlaw biker gangs in history. Primarily riding Harley Davidsons, the Hells Angels quickly rose to notoriety, following an incident in which the motorcycle club was hired as crowd control at Altamont Free Concert in 1969. After a series of events, the crowd become agitated, and the Hells Angels motorcycle club was forced to step in, resulting in four deaths and several injuries. However, Hells Angels maintains loyalty, and a popular way to show this is with Hells Angels tattoos

The Hells Angels emblem displays a skull with a massive wing stemming off it, known as the "death's head." Many loyal supporters and members of Hells Angels tattoo this on their bodies to show their undying support. Similarly, the number 81 is seen on many Hells Angels' tattoos, since 8 and 1 correspond to the letters "H" and "A".

The Hells Angel logo is protected by a strict copyright, as is the skull emblem and the number 81. To this extent, non members of Hells Angels are not authorized to obtain a Hells Angels tattoo. If a non member is seen sporting a Hells Angels tattoo, it could mean trouble for the bearer. It is safe to assume that all who wear any Hells Angels tattoos are active members in the infamous motorcycle club, and show their loyalty for one of the oldest clubs by tattooing the Hells Angels' emblem on their body.
