Harley Davidson is a type of American motorcycle that has a loyal fan base all over the world. It's noteworthy for its unique design and exhaust style, which has given the motorcycle its own individual identity.

The Silent Grey Fellow of the early 1900s was a one of the earliest versions of the Harley Davidson. A renowned success in its time, this classic motorcycle was later used as promotional mascot, displaying the mileage capabilities of the Harleys.

The Harley Davidson Flathead or Side Valve of the 1920s is another classic. The name was given because of the position of the valves on this type of motorcycle. Harley Davidsons have featured widely in the media. Be it famous movies or as favored means of transport for well-loved celebrities, Harleys gets its fair share of attention. Die-hard fans will recall the moment of truth for Harleys in The Wild One. An epic movie featuring Marlon Brando, the bike added that raw edge to the feeling of teenage rebellion.

Other famous Harley Davidsons from movies include the choppers driven by Dennis Hopper and Peter Honda for the Easy Rider. James Dean and Elvis Presley were two celebrities known to drive Harleys. Moviegoers will also remember the Harley Softail from the recent Indiana Jones movie, a feature that added to the fast paced thrill of the flick.
